MYMP's song is always playing every single minute, every single hour in the Philippines and every single person was singing it every single second of the day
This is a tribute to all of the Pinoys who love this great song originally done by
KYLIE MINOGUE, notMYMP, but was remade by MYMP in a cover sung by that semi-adorable girl that sings lead in the band with the hideous dudu brown hair color that doesn't match her skin color or flat nose, hehe :). Joke lang, not.
My suggestion for her now that she has all that money is to have her hair be wavy, but in a DARK brown color, not LIGHT brown, and go to Vicki Belo to have your nose done with a rhinoplasty (for those not enlightened, a rhinoplasty is plastic surgery done on the nose where the tip of the nose is cut to make it sharper and more pointed and a piece is inserted for those who weren't born with nosebridges, which is the majority of Filipnos who have brown skin. The nose bridge is the bone in between your eyes, put your finger directly in between your eyes, if you have a bone there that protrudes noticably there (called the nosebridge, that's what people are referring to when they say "high nosebridge"), it means that you have Spanish ancestry, the higher that bone protrudes, the more European ancestry you're likely to have, because like most Asians, native Malays don't have nosebridges, it's usually flat, like this Chinese girl to the right. It is one of the small yet significant status symbols in Philippine society. The other is your nose tip, if it's pointed like this:
A beber y a tragar, que el mundo se va a acabar.
Inspiracion: For All of Life
The third status symbol are your eyes. The bigger the better. The fourth status symbol, light skin. The fifth status symbol: what texture is your hair? If you were born with light brown wavy hair, that indicates your Spanish ancestry, and during the early 20th century all the way up the 70s and 80s, natural wavy hair (like Kristine Hermosa or Karylle) was what set apart someone in a higher social statosphere than the others. Now, having straight hair is more popular among Filipinas, but me, I find wavy hair to be much prettier in general, Karylle looks great with wavy hair.
While we're on the subject, did anyone ever notice how some Filipinos who became celebrities just becaue they're Amboys or girls look like normal Filipinos? I've seen some "Amboys" on Philippine television, and they looked like normal Filipinos to me because I have family members that are more Caucasian looking than they are, but we're all Filipino. By the way, isn't that Gerald Anderson, besides being totally cute on the outside, totally soplado? For me, a guy's being cute dies once they have a soplado attitude. Cogie Domingo is so humble, which is what makes him even sexier than he already is physically. He's pimply in this picture, which is cute, because then he's more like a normal person.
I never really believed it or noticed the effect that this tiny space between our eyes has on people until I actually stepped foot in the Philippines, and it was apparent the class differences between people. It's important to know this kids, this is your Filipino culture, like every culture, certain looks have status. Like blondes have status in English-speaking, Spanish-speaking, basically the whole world, like having an eye fold in Japan, being tall in China, being light skinned in India, Japan, China, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, Peru, bascially all Latin American countries, and all of Asia (don't think it's only the Philippines! Many Filipinos get that mistaken assuming that only Filipinos are like that - false. It's good to know so that when people ask you, you're educated about your own culture. Fact is, many Filipinos aren't educated about their own Filipino culture, and when others ask them about their culture, they usually give answers blindly, and oftentimes, with incorrect information. That was the purpose of my page, so that you can answer questions of people, and if someone says, "Why do Filipinos worship white skin?" Well you can now say, yeah, well have a taken a look at your own culture? Have you noticed other Latin American countries and Asian countries and their worship of white skin as well? You see, many Filipinos don't know this, I noticed. They think it's only the Philippines that's like that, and it's not. It's sooo not. FILIPINOS NEED TO BE MORE EDUCATED, and once their educated, they need to realize that you can never stop learning. Me personally, I've read millions of books and stuff on Filipino culture, but I keep going and keep on looking for more information and digging and I keep learning, and that's what inspired me to create this site, because I realized, there are a LOT of things that young Filipinos around the world don't know about their own culture.
I do believe that every culture has it's own beauty and status symbols that aren't fair to everybody. I mean Filipinos make a big fuss of why light skin is such a status symbol, but how about other countries where being thin, blonde and with big breasts is worshipped? Not every girl looks like Britney Spears, but boy they would die to look like her. All I gotta say to Filipinos in those forums who continually talk about that is, relax and take a better look at the world around you. It's human nature and the evolution of cultures that creates beauty and status symbols in cultures, it's not a Filipino "defect" that they like white skin and European features. But when they talk like that criticizing their own culture and people to the point of madness (a little helpful criticism is good, it's constructive, but I've heard young Filipinos go crazy with this to the point of self-flaggelation), it's also a manifestation of their inner lack of pride in their own Filipino culture, but that's another topic that I'll sure be getting into real soon...
I do believe in natural Filipina beauty, but at the same time, we have no problem with people who get plastic surgery, especially if they're in the entertainment business because it's part of your job to look good, and part of the reason why you get paid so much. Look at what Nancy Castiglione and John Prat's nose jobs have done for their career.
And you know what, a rhinoplasty on the nose is a common plastic surgery procedure done by many Asian actors, in Japan, China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, all over Asia. Skin whitening is also common among other Asian countries, and Latin American countries. You didn't think some of those Asianovela stars you were watching were born with those pointed noses, did you? You probably did. ;)
This page features Filipinos singing along to their own versions of this popular song, and could provide hours of entertainment, both kilig type entertainment and laughs :) depending on which video you watch below, hehe:
filipinos love especially for you!
