Alex is the son of a rich family, Mauro is poor and lives with his sister, who works as a helper on a wine vineyard. Alex is engaged to the girl whose rich family Mauro's sister works for. Alex and Mauro have been friends for a couple of months now, they're in the same barkada, because Mauro is going out with Alex's sister. Meanwhile, Alex's girlfriend is not satisfied because Alex is not pleasuring her sexually, obviously, so she's fooling around with Alex's and Mauro's kabarkada friend.

In a recent episode about a week ago, Alex (right) just recently confessed his love for Mauro (left), and kissed him. Mauro was shocked, and said "What? You're in love with ME?" From all we know, Mauro is straight. This was a shocking revelation, but there was more to come.

Little did he know that his girlfriend followed him and took a picture with her phone of them kissing, which she uses to make him marry her. Alex's parents thinks that his girlfriend would make a good wife for him, especially because Alex's girlfriend is the daughter of his parent's business associate and close friend.
After Alex confesses his love for Mauro, Mauro is shocked, and so is the audience because nobody saw that coming at all! Mauro still insists that he's straight and so the audience still believes so, because he's still with his girlfriend -- that is until Alex and Mauro go to Alex's room where they make love! After Alex and Mauro make love, Alex tells Mauro that the only way to stop h
is father from pressuring him to marry his girlfriend is to come out of the closet and tell him that he's gay, but Mauro does not want him to, because he himself is not ready to come out of the closet yet. And that's what's been happening so far in that story, besides what else is happening in the love story between the gorgeous and beautiful Gabriela Spanic, who plays the mother of Alex's girlfriend, and veteran actor Saul Lisazo. It's still early in the story, because the telenovela only debuted a couple of weeks ago.
Telemundo has been for a while showing gay characters in their telenovelas, for example you've seen one on Pasion de Gavilanes (Pasion de Amor). On their new hit Decisiones, which is a daily 1-hour telenovela which instead of a continuous telenovela, shows different stories everyday in one hour blocks, they must have shown about 20 different stories with not
just gay themes, but lesbian stories with women, bisexual stories, and even transexual and transvestite stories where people come to terms with their husbands being gay or finding out that their husband wants to have a sex change, or that their wife is a bisexual and ends up leaving her husband for her husband's querida, all fascinating on this show, I can't stop watching it every night, it's sizzling, and it's not just about sex, there are family stories as well and about life, and one starred your favorite Te Amo guy Segundo Cernadas in a gay themed story, and your favorite Pasion de Amor star Paola Rey in a lesbian themed story, and the good thing is that they're realistic, in comparison to Philippine telenovelas and movies in which there's a gay character that's your typical bakla that's only there for comedy, or like the characters in movies like the recent Starstruck that are "converted" straight in the end, as if that was realistically possible, which I know is not according to my lesbian female friends.

Pasion de Amor star Paola Rey a lesbian? Well, she was on Decisiones.
So for Telemundo, the highest rated Spanish-language television network in the world that brought you such classics as Pasion de Amor and Gata Salvaje, and Tierra de Pasiones to have a gay storyline of love between two young men, and to have them kiss on camera, and to make love, on a telenovela that shows in the highly coveted primetime family slot of 8:00 p.m. each night to general audiences of millions of people across the US, South America, and around the world everyday, and to do it in a realistic manner in which people can understand and be educated from it, and not the way they do it in the Philippines which is really backwards in that they always "turn" the gay characters straight in the end like in that movie Starstruck and countless other movies, which everybody knows is just not realistically possible, this is pretty revolutionary for a Spanish language telenovela, because of the homophobia that exists in Latin culture, so I really give kudos to Telemundo for their innovative quality television.
